Dr. Megan E. Leyva

Dr. Megan E. Leyva, a South Florida native, was born and raised in vibrant Miami and is of Cuban descent. She pursued her passion for science close to home, earning a B.S. in Biology from Florida International University. To deepen her scientific expertise, Dr. Leyva obtained a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University. Her journey in dentistry led her to Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, where she earned her DMD degree and specialized training in periodontics.

During her time at NSU, Dr. Leyva excelled academically and graduated with honors. She also proudly served as president to several organizations and was honored to be Chief Resident in her final year of specialty training. As a dedicated NSU Shark, she is a clinical adjunct faculty member for the NSU-CDM Periodontics Department, where she can teach, guide and mentor the next generation of dentists. 

Dr. Leyva is skilled in the latest periodontal and implant surgery techniques, including robot-assisted surgery and conscious sedation. A lifelong learner, she is committed to providing exceptional patient care by staying current with the latest research, participating in local study clubs, and attending continuing education courses. She is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Florida Association of Periodontists, and the American Association of Women Dentists.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Leyva enjoys spending time with her loved ones, going to the beach, baking, and playing with her five beloved dogs.
